School Development Plan

As a Maintained Nursery School, we have our own School Development Plan (SDP). The SDP is a strategic plan for school improvement. It brings together, in a clear and concise manner, our school priorities, the measures we have in place to raise standards, the resources dedicated to them, and the key outcomes and targets we aim to achieve.

Our Key Priorities for 2025-2026

  1. The school’s vision, ethos and strategic direction have been well established in partnership with governors and parents.
  2. To embed the Talking Time Programme across all phases, including Preschool, to strengthen the quality of education in Communication and Language. This will ensure inclusive, high-quality provision for all pupils, with a particular emphasis on improving outcomes for those with SEND and those eligible for EYPP.
  3.           To foster a culture of continuous professional growth by embedding a structured appraisal cycle that includes peer coaching, termly observations, reflective dialogue in peer groups, and SMART targets linked to individual and whole-school improvement priorities. This cycle will be supported by professional discussions, targeted development opportunities, and recognition of progress, creating a dynamic loop of learning, reflection, and improvement.

  4. To complete the Curiosity Approach Accreditation and fully embed its principles into our EYFS curriculum and practice. This will be evidenced by enhanced learning environments, staff CPD records, and child observations that demonstrate increased engagement, problem-solving, and curiosity, in line with EYFS outcomes.
